THE SURPRISE IS LARGE CHESS FOR ESD! Chess sets are growing with ESD (Elementary School Division). ESD started playing with small chess sets with a king of 1 1/2 inches shown in the lower right corner picture below as the smallest king. The colored chess sets came along later with a 4-inch king shown in green in lower right picture below. Coming soon the large chess! (Chess sets are made as tall as 72-inches or 6 feet.) Research has shown that chess teaches the 5 R's of (r)eading, w(r)iting, a(r)ithmetic, (r)esponsibility, (r)espect and develops problem-solving skills. |
