The Ten Worlds Posters for ESD

1.  The World of Hell

This is a state of suffering when a person tries to destroy himself and everything around him.

A man did wrong and now he is in jail.   He feels very sad and lonely.

I broke my favorite toy.  I feel very sad because there are no more in the stores.

2.  The World of Hunger

A greedy person is in the world of hunger and is never satisfied with endless desires for wealth, fun or food.

I want ten bicycles and I can only ride one.

3.  The World of Animality

We are ruled by instinct and treat other people like animals.

I feel like I am in a jungle and cannot control myself like a wild animal.

4.  The World of Anger

I think only of myself and feel that others are against me.

I am angry at others.  I have bad feelings about others.

5.  The World of Humanity

I am calm and I can control my desires sometimes.

I am trying to live in harmony with my surroundings and people.

6.  The World of Rapture

I feel joy in the world of rapture.  One of my wishes came true and I stopped feeling sad.

I felt happy at my birthday party with my friends feeling happy.

7.  The World of Learning

I am learning from others and making a better life for myself.

I am learning a lot of things in my school.

8.  The World of Realization

I try to learn by doing research.  This is more than learning from others.  I try to learn by discovering things myself.   I like to look at insects and catch them.  I am learning about insects and how they move and how they live.

I like to see for myself what is true.

9.  The World of Bodhisattva

I care about other people in my neighborhood and in the world.  I would like for them to be happy and not be sad.  I respect people of different skin colors, and it does not matter if they are green or purple.

10.  The World of Buddhahood

I am very happy. I am trying to help others become happy by telling them about Nam-Myo-Ho-Renge-Kyo.

For older children:  When I do the three ways of practice, I become a Buddha at that moment.  That means I develop my Buddha nature when I chant Nam-Myo-Ho-Renge-Kyo to the Gohonzon and study Nichiren Buddhism and tell others about Nam-Myo-Ho-Renge-Kyo.

The pictures were taken from the Ten Worlds poster sizes 22 x 22 inches, not standard poster size to allow for the little ones to carry them, and read the above information on the back of the posters at meetings.  Posters were made by Jarva.
